The Verkhovna Rada has registered a revised draft law on the decriminalization of pornography. The document provides for the abolition of criminal liability for the storage and distribution of intimate videos, except in special cases.

A group of MPs have registered in the Verkhovna Rada a revised bill on the decriminalization of porn, which will provide for the exclusion of criminal liability for the shooting and distribution of intimate videos. This was reported by MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak, UNN reports.

We have registered a revised draft law on decriminalization of pornography. This version is more conservative, but after more than a year of discussions with the committee and the working group, I am pleased to announce that a compromise has been reached

- Zheleznyak said.

According to him, the draft law changes Article 301 of the Criminal Code so that people are not imprisoned for 3-5 years for filming and distributing intimate videos.

Criminal liability remains exclusively for: non-consensual porn (revenge porn, deep fake), extreme porn (violence, animal, necrophilia), porn with children and distribution among children (here we are also strengthening it)

- Zheleznyak added.

He emphasized that this is not "legalization of porn," but rather "decriminalization of porn," because now, under Article 301, Ukrainians can be punished even for storing nude photos on their personal phones.
