Construction works to restore the "Okhmatdyt" children's hospital, which was damaged by the Russian attack, will start in May-June. A tender for the renovation of the old surgical building is also ongoing.
Construction work on the restoration of the "Okhmatdyt" children's hospital, which was damaged by a Russian attack last year, should begin in May - early June. This was stated by the Minister of Health Viktor Liashko on the telethon, reports UNN.

The Minister noted that they are currently waiting for the completion of the project documentation and the Ministry of Health is in constant contact with the designers.
"What are the plans? By the end of March - early April, the development of project documentation will be completed. In April, we will pass all the examinations, start bidding for the builder. May - early June, construction works should begin, which should be completed before the cold weather this year. Facades have been agreed, these are the most difficult things," - said Liashko.
He also noted that a separate block is the old surgical building.
"There will be a complete renovation. A tender is currently being held to select a contractor. He will develop at least two proposals on how we move forward. The first is whether it will be completely demolished and a new building will be built on this site. There are resources for it at the expense of the World Bank. The second option is that a complete renovation will be carried out within the existing building. Now there is a tender, two months to determine which way we are moving and also forward to the construction of an innovative building," - said Liashko.
Are there any funds?
Liashko stated that a large number of people have donated to the innovative building, the funds are in the accounts, no one is using them.
"Plus, the state has accumulated an additional UAH 300 million in case we see that it is not enough. Regarding the old surgical building. We have worked out with the World Bank and the World Bank has accumulated funds within the HEAL project for us to restore it as well. Therefore, there are no problems with resources," - said Liashko.

On July 8, the Russian army launched a targeted strike on the Okhmatdyt children's hospital.
On September 30, the Okhmatdyt Children's Hospital announced simplified procurement for emergency works worth UAH 9.51 million and technical supervision for them worth UAH 132,000. By November 15, emergency measures had to be taken to protect the Okhmatdyt hospital building from external influences.
In October 2024, the medical director of Okhmatdyt, Serhiy Chernyshuk, stated that the restoration of the Okhmatdyt hospital, which was damaged as a result of the Russian strike in July, will not take place this year. The reason was that the procedure for selecting a contractor was changed, which requires more time. Also, a more detailed examination was carried out again, which is still in the final stage.
On March 11, the Cabinet of Ministers adopted a order to redistribute about UAH 6.3 million for the reconstruction of Okhmatdyt, as well as for the restoration of the historical outpatient clinic for laborers.
On March 7, the Cabinet of Ministers allocated another UAH 3.3 billion for particularly important projects in the field of medicine. In particular, funds will be used to restore Okhmatdyt.
