According to the newspaper, citing a spokeswoman for the district police commandant's office in Slubice, Eva Murmylo, the protesters are only letting emergency services through: police, ambulance, firefighters, and the border guard. The rest of the cars are being detoured to other checkpoints, including Olszynka.
The protest organizers say they oppose the influx of agricultural products not only from Ukraine, but also from Belarus, Russia and other countries.
We are against the influx of non-standardized agricultural products into the EU. We have to adhere to strict norms and regulations, and the products that come in are genetically modified. Because neither Ukraine, nor Russia, nor any other country where genetically modified products are produced has any regulations, and such products enter the Polish market
It should be noted that Polish farmers did not protest at the Polish-Belarusian border, through which Russian agricultural products enter European countries.
