British athlete Rose Harvey ran the women's marathon at the 2024 Olympic Games with a broken leg. The runner told about it in Instagram, reports UNN.

At the 2024 Olympics, a total of 80 athletes crossed the finish line on the marathon course, while 11 did not finish the race. Among the 80 athletes who covered the 42 kilometers of the course was 31-year-old Briton Harvey, who finished 78th with a personal best of 2:51.03 hours.
She later posted a photo of herself on crutches. The athlete said that she had felt discomfort in her hip during training, but hoped that she would be able to cover the distance without any problems. However, during the marathon, Harvey still did not escape injury.

According to her, during the race she often thought about quitting, but she managed to finish. . She emphasized that she wanted to fulfill her dream of running a marathon at her debut Olympic Games.
I kept telling myself to smile, to absorb the energy of the incredible crowd and just put one foot in front of the other. This is something I will never forget - participating in the Olympic Games. Being able to share the race with so many of my wonderful friends and family meant everything to me
