A total of 4,381 confirmed Ebola cases have been recorded in Congo, including 2,011 deaths. The outbreak, declared in May, is caused by the rare Bundibugyo virus, for which there are no approved vaccines.
At least 2,000 people have died among the confirmed cases in the Ebola outbreak in Congo, the largest in recorded history, according to the latest government figures, UNN writes, citing AP.

Data published overnight on Tuesday showed that a total of 4,381 confirmed cases of the disease had been recorded, including 2,011 deaths.
A total of 704 patients are hospitalized and in isolation.

The Ebola outbreak, declared on May 15, differs from most previous ones in that there are no approved vaccines or treatments for the rare Bundibugyo virus, which causes it.
The World Health Organization said on Monday that it began in February, long before authorities detected it in one of Congo's most remote and vulnerable areas.
