The Minister of Education said that 10,553 schools use their own or neighboring shelters. UAH 7.5 billion has been allocated for the construction of shelters in schools, with priority given to the frontline areas.
In Ukraine, more than 10 thousand schools use their own shelters or shelters of nearby institutions. Minister of Education and Science Oksen Lisovyi said this during an hour of questions to the government in the Verkhovna Rada, a UNN correspondent reports .

In addition, he said, 1,327 schools had shelters on the ground floors, including wooden schools.
"There is an engineering solution today that can be applied to prevent children from not attending full-time education. As for the issue of finding funds, yes, there are low-income communities, and today the government is working to find funding to supplement and provide subventions for this purpose," said Lisovyi.
He also said that UAH 7.5 billion was allocated this year for the construction of shelters in schools, but priority was given to the frontline areas where the situation is the worst.
"And for the next year, we are working to help those communities that are poor and cannot afford even the simplest modular shelters..." he said.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine should fully implement the program to create shelters in schoolsso that as many children as possible can go to school offline in the new school year.
