Cabinet of Ministers allocates UAH 5 billion for shelters in schools and UAH 216 million for buses

The Cabinet of Ministers allocated funds for the construction of shelters in schools in 8 regions and the purchase of school buses. At least 500 buses are expected to be purchased in 2024 to ensure safe full-time education.
The Cabinet of Ministers has allocated another UAH 5 billion from the budget for shelters in schools in Chernihiv, Kherson, Kharkiv, Sumy, Odesa, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Dnipro regions. He also allocated almost UAH 216 million for school buses. This was stated by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, reports UNN.
The government has allocated another UAH 5 billion from the budget for shelters in schools in Chernihiv, Kherson, Kharkiv, Sumy, Odesa, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Dnipro regions
Also, according to Shmyhal, the government has allocated almost UAH 216 million for school buses, of which more than 120 have already been purchased this year.
This year, the state budget has already allocated UAH 2.5 billion for the construction of school shelters and UAH 1 billion for the purchase of school buses. We expect that at least 500 school buses will be purchased in 2024 thanks to the allocated funds and co-financing from local budgets
According to the Prime Minister, this will ensure regular transportation of schoolchildren to educational institutions that meet all safety criteria and where children can study full-time.
