Mobile rehabilitation module for veterans and civilians to be opened in Kyiv region

A barrier-free module for the rehabilitation of veterans and civilians affected by Russian aggression will be installed in Kyiv region.

A mobile rehabilitation module will be installed in Vasylkiv, Kyiv region, to help with the physical and psychological recovery of veterans and civilians affected by Russian aggression.  UNN reports this with reference to the Kyiv RMA. 

Details 

It is planned to install a fully barrier-free building with an area of 72 m2. It will be assembled using modular technology and equipped with high-quality rehabilitation equipment. 

A multidisciplinary team will work there: a case manager, psychologist, physical therapist, speech therapist, and specialists from partner organizations who will provide other services.

The mobile module includes the following areas of work:

  • physical rehabilitation;
  • walking on prostheses;
  • support of prosthetics;
  • occupational therapy;
  • restoration of speech;
  • psychological assistance;
  • support groups;
  • legal support;
  • employment;
  • training and retraining.

Addendum 

The first such module was launched in January 2024 in the city of Ovruch, Zhytomyr region. Now the project is being scaled up to three more spaces: in Vasylkiv, Kyiv Oblast, Khotyn, Chernivtsi Oblast, and Kropyvnytskyi, Kirovohrad Oblast.

The project is part of the social franchise of the Mindy Charitable Foundation in cooperation with the Coordination Center for Mental Health of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the NGO Bezbariernist within the framework of the All-Ukrainian Mental Health Program "Are You OK?", an initiative of First Lady Olena Zelenska.
