Military blogger who deceived subscribers while raising funds for an Armed Forces unit was served a notice of suspicion

Police served a suspicion notice to a blogger for fraudulently raising UAH 3.5 million for mortars. The suspect embezzled at least 350 thousand hryvnias from the collection for the military.
Law enforcement officers have served a notice of suspicion to a military blogger who defrauded his followers while raising funds for an Armed Forces unit. According to social media reports, it is poet and publisher Vladislav Hranetsky-Stafiychuk, who goes by the pseudonym Sord, reports UNN.

According to the National Police, in July 2022, the man wrote on his page that he had the opportunity to purchase five foreign-made mortars worth about UAH 3.5 million. He justified the urgency and importance of the collection by saying that they would help the military in the battles near Izyum.
As the National Police investigators found out, the man kept some of the money for himself. It is at least 350 thousand hryvnias embezzled from the fees. This is evidenced by the movement of funds on his private card accounts, to which law enforcement officers received authorized access during the investigation.
The police found the offender in Vinnytsia at his place of residence and served him a notice of suspicion for fraud committed under martial law, which caused significant damage to the victim (Part 3 of Art. 190).
The investigation is ongoing. A measure of restraint will be chosen soon.
