Migration of Ukrainian business during the war: where companies move most often

Almost 19,000 companies have relocated since the start of the full-scale war in Ukraine, with Kyiv and Zakarpattia regions being the most popular destinations for business relocation.
Since the beginning of 2022, almost 19 thousand companies have relocated. The most popular destinations for business relocation were Kyiv and Zakarpattia regions.

Since the beginning of the full-scale war, 1176 companies have changed their location, moving from cities to rural areas. Of these, more than 600 companies left Kyiv, and approximately 60, or 5.1%, moved their operations from Odesa region. Most often, companies chose to relocate to Kyiv region, where 546 organizations moved.
Since the start of the full-scale war, almost half of all business relocations have been within the country. The most frequent direction of relocation was from Kyiv to Kyiv region, accounting for 359 cases or 30% of all business relocations to the region.
Other directions were less popular, for example, from Lviv to Kyiv region and from Kyiv to Zakarpattia, which took only 2.7% and 2.6% of the total number of relocations, which corresponds to about 30-32 moves for each route.
The leaders in relocations were companies engaged in wholesale trade - 344 relocations (29.3%) and the transportation industry - 92 relocations (7.8%).
