Lithuania has offered to dismantle its closed thermal power plants and provide Ukraine with spare parts to help rebuild energy facilities damaged by Russian attacks.
Lithuania has offered to dismantle its thermal power plants and transfer spare parts needed by Ukraine to restore power facilities after enemy attacks, Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko said during a telethon, UNN reports.
"I had a conversation with the Minister of Energy of Lithuania. They actually offered to use their thermal power plants, which are closed. To use them as donors. We are going to work on this now. That is, to disassemble and get the spare parts we need," Halushchenko said
At the same time, according to the minister, the best defense of energy facilities is to strengthen the air defense system.
"When air defense works, it is capable of destroying most targets, and even those hits that occur do not have a significant impact," emphasized Halushchenko.

As Galushchenko has previously stated, Russia is striking at thermal and hydroelectric power plants to damage Ukraine's economy.
He also did not rule out raising electricity tariffs due to Russia's massive strikes on energy facilities.
