An explosion occurred in the center of the occupied Donetsk, in a car in which the head of the Olenivska colony was located. According to the adviser to the mayor of Mariupol, the epicenter of the explosion was near the driver's seat, two people were injured.

According to him, judging by the numerous photos and videos, the epicenter of the explosion is in the area of the driver's seat. This excludes versions about randomness or a "gas cylinder".

Russian media write that as a result of the explosion, two people were injured. They do not name names and the cause of the incident.

The Russian Telegram channel Shot notes that a homemade explosive device, apparently planted under the driver's seat, went off in the SUV. As soon as the man and woman got into the car, the explosion occurred.

 On July 29, 2022, a terrorist attack took place in the Olenivka colony, then at least 50 Ukrainian prisoners of war were killed. The colony mostly housed defenders of Mariupol and "Azovstal", some of them were brought there almost on the eve of the tragedy.

Russian propaganda media wrote that the explosion was allegedly caused by shelling by the Ukrainian side with MLRS HIMARS. In turn, the General Staff of the UAF reported that the Russian troops deliberately shelled the colony.

Earlier, the director of the Kyiv Research Institute of Forensic Examinations (KNDISE), Oleksandr Ruvin, said that the Institute's experts conducted an examination related to the Olenivka terrorist attack. The experts concluded that Russia used incendiary weapons, as a result of which a large number of Ukrainian servicemen were killed.
