While extinguishing a dry grass fire near the village of Mala Sovpa in the Rivne region, rescuers heard unusual sounds coming from the thickets.

Amidst the smoke and fire, the firefighters found two small fawns that could not escape the dangerous trap on their own.

The little ones were carefully carried out of the fire zone to a safe place.

"We urge citizens not to burn dry vegetation! Such fires cause irreparable damage to the environment, destroy plants and animals, and can pose a threat to human life," the statement reads.
