Capital police officers have detained a Russian citizen on suspicion of attempted murder. During a conflict, the suspect attacked his friend with a knife, inflicting wounds. This was reported by UNN with reference to the Main Directorate of the National Police of Ukraine in Kyiv.

The incident took place on May 8 in the Obolonskyi district of the capital. The police received a report that a man had fallen from a window of a high-rise building on Obolonskyi Avenue. He was identified as a 22-year-old man; it was not possible to save him.

Knife wounds were found on his body, as well as fractures characteristic of a fall from a height.

Law enforcement officers established that an acquaintance of the man was involved in his death - a 22-year-old Russian citizen who had previously been held criminally liable for drug-related crimes.

The investigation also established that a conflict arose between the two young men in the apartment, during which the perpetrator stabbed the victim.

The victim tried to escape through the window but slipped and fell from the height. The perpetrator locked himself inside but was detained with the tactical support of the special-purpose police regiment.

Criminal proceedings have been initiated under Part 2 of Article 15 and Part 1 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — attempted intentional homicide. The sanction of the article provides for up to 15 years of imprisonment,
