According to the agency, Washington did not explain why it stopped a series of 13 nights of strikes in response to Iranian attacks on shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. Reuters, citing Axios, reports that US President Donald Trump on Friday ordered the military not to carry out new strikes on Iran. A senior US official told the agency that Trump "has always made it clear that he prefers diplomacy, but he has shown Iran what will happen if they do not sit down at the negotiating table seriously."
