U.S. President Donald Trump ordered the American military not to launch new strikes against Iran, breaking a nearly two-week series of daily attacks. Axios reports this, citing two informed sources, writes UNN.

According to the publication, this decision was made after 13 consecutive days during which Trump approved proposed military strike plans. It is currently unknown whether this pause is a one-time occurrence or if Washington intends to continue refraining from new attacks.
Axios' interlocutors note that the president's decision indicates his willingness to give more time to diplomatic efforts, as well as an assessment that the current level of military strikes has reached the limit of its effectiveness. At the same time, the U.S. military continues to prepare plans in case of a resumption of large-scale combat operations, but they have not received a corresponding order from the president.
Trump stated readiness for a deal with Iran
As Axios reports, on Friday Trump received another strike plan but did not approve it. Instead, he ordered the military to refrain from new attacks.
Shortly after this, the U.S. president told journalists that the United States has the ability to resume or even intensify strikes against Iran.
"We are now talking with the Iranians. I think they are becoming more serious every day. We are fully ready for action, but we are talking with them,"
Later, during a dinner of the White House Correspondents' Association, he added that he currently does not consider Iran ready to conclude a deal, but is ready to listen to Tehran's proposals.
According to Axios, Trump's decision coincided with the arrival in Tehran of an Omani delegation for negotiations on a new agreement to restore navigation through the Strait of Hormuz. Two regional sources told the publication that the parties have made progress, and an agreement between Oman and Iran could be reached as early as this coming weekend. After that, Trump will have to decide whether to agree to the proposed arrangements.
