Government approves renewable energy development plan until 2030

The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a document on pilot auctions for renewable energy producers and the National Renewable Energy Plan until 2030. The goal is to increase the share of renewable energy to 27% of gross final consumption.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved a document that initiates pilot auctions to determine support quotas for renewable energy producers and tests the green auction system. It also adopted the National Renewable Energy Action Plan until 2030, along with a detailed implementation plan that is in line with European norms and standards.
Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal told about this at a government meeting.

The Prime Minister said that intensive winterization measures are currently underway, including the restoration of all possible facilities. He also noted that active work is underway on government programs aimed at developing distributed generation and increasing the share of renewable energy sources. These measures are an important part of the country's Energy Strategy and its aspirations for membership in the European Union.
Today, the Government is adopting a document that introduces the practice of pilot auctions for the distribution of support quotas for renewable energy producers. This includes solar, wind, biogas, as well as micro and small hydropower plants
The Prime Minister noted that the system of "green" auctions is currently being tested, which is planned to be fully launched in 2025. He emphasized that potential investors will receive guaranteed support, which will facilitate the faster implementation of renewable energy projects and help reduce the overall capacity shortage in the power system.
Also today, we are approving the National Renewable Energy Action Plan for the period up to 2030 and the action plan for its implementation. The document is clearly correlated with European norms and standards. It aims to increase the share of green energy in gross final consumption to 27% by 2030. The plan includes 38 measures, prescribes performance indicators and identifies responsible parties
