"We had an open discussion with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on issues on which we share common views, as well as on those on which our views differ," Fico said on X, also sharing a video comment and noting that "the dialogue continues, despite differing views."
"We talked about the current situation and, of course, about EU enlargement in general. Our dialogue is developing into something quite constructive and meaningful. Personally, I am glad about this," the Prime Minister of Slovakia said in the distributed video, according to the English-language subtitles on the video.
At the same time, Fico emphasized in the message: "Slovakia will continue to defend and promote its national interests, while I consider it right to maintain a factual, constructive and respectful dialogue with all our partners."
"I believe that next week I will meet President Zelenskyy again in Gdansk," Fico said in the video.
