As the situation on the frontline escalated, the Ukrainian military took control of Nestryga Island in Kherson Oblast.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine have established control over the island of Nestryga in the Kherson region. This was stated by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi in his Telegram channel, UNN reports.

According to the commander-in-chief, Russian troops continue to try to drive Ukrainian forces out of Krynky on the left bank of the Kherson region.
The enemy has not succeeded in any of the directions. Moreover, in the Kherson sector, our units managed to advance in the area of Veletynske and establish control over Nestryga Island

At the same time, Syrsky emphasized that the situation on the frontline has escalated. According to him, the most difficult situation is in the Pokrovske and Kurakhove directions. Up to four brigades have been deployed there and are trying to develop an offensive west of Avdiivka and Maryinka, making their way to Pokrovsk and Kurakhove.
Ukrainian Defense Forces units have moved to new positions west of Berdychiv, Semenivka and Novomykhailivka.
