Trump is choosing between a military strike and a new deal with Iran. The President has received data on military options, but prefers to avoid bombings.
US President Donald Trump stated that his options regarding Iran come down to a significant military escalation or reaching a deal, UNN reports with reference to CNN.
"There are options. Do we want to just blow them to smithereens and finish them off forever? Or do we want to try to make a deal. Those are the options," Trump said, confirming that he received an updated briefing on military options from US Central Command last night.
Trump said he would prefer not to resume a bombing campaign.
"From a human standpoint, I'd rather not do that," he said at the White House. "But it's an option: do we want to go in there with force and just shoot them up, or do we want to do something?"
