AFU Reform: Fedorov outlines priority areas for the Ministry of Defense

The head of the Ministry of Defense, Mykhailo Fedorov, announced a new model of financial support and a contract system. The reform also provides for clear terms of service and a transparent logic for personnel rotations.

Minister of Defense of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov, following a meeting with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, representatives of the Government, and the military command, explained exactly how the reform of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will begin. This was reported by UNN with reference to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

The meeting was also attended by Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko, Commander-in-Chief of the AFU Oleksandr Syrskyi, and Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Pavlo Palisa.
Mykhailo Fedorov noted that the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine is preparing the first projects for implementation within the framework of the reform. This includes a fair model of financial support, a new contract system with clear terms of service and a logical rotation system, new approaches to staffing units of the Defense Forces, and more.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the start of the army reform, revealing three main points. These include an increase in financial support, special contracts for infantrymen, and strengthening the contract system so that terms of service are clearly defined.
Recall
Commander-in-Chief of the AFU Oleksandr Syrskyi signed an order regarding the mandatory rotation of military personnel on the front line — commanders must ensure conditions for soldiers to remain in positions for up to 2 months, followed by a mandatory rotation within a period no later than one month.
UNN also reported that President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed decrees extending martial law and general mobilization in Ukraine until August 2.
