The President reported that today he visited Slavutych in northern Ukraine.
"I spoke here today with the heads of communities from the northern regions – Kyiv and Chernihiv oblasts. It is very important to support our people here and to strengthen the defense. This is exactly what we are doing,"
According to him, this also applies to protective structures – fortifications and other measures; there will be additional reinforcement of the border, as well as our Defense and Security Forces stationed specifically in this direction – towards Chernihiv and Kyiv from the territory of neighbors in Belarus, whom Russia very much wants to drag further into this war, and from the Bryansk region.
"We have the capacity for reinforcement, we have the capacity to work preventively regarding Russian territories – from where threats may arise – and regarding the actual leadership of Belarus, which must stay on its toes, meaning it must truly feel that there will be consequences if there are aggressive actions against Ukraine, against our people. We remember that in '22, the invasion also came from the territory of Belarus. We will not forget this,"
The President also added that "the Defense Forces, the Security Forces, and our intelligence services know what the threats are and how to respond—to respond justly, undoubtedly."
