Yermak pelted with eggs after court hearing. "Attacker" detained, police are speaking with him

The former head of the Office of the President, Andriy Yermak, was pelted with eggs after a court hearing where a preventive measure was being chosen for him in a case concerning the construction of residential residences in Kozyn near Kyiv, UNN reports.

Details

After leaving the courtroom, an unidentified man threw two eggs at Yermak, but missed both times. The video shows that after the man threw the second egg, he was pushed away by another man who identified himself as an "ordinary passerby."

The man began shouting insults at Yermak as he was getting into his car: "Yermak, you're a f*ggot, you're a f*ggot. You're screwed, you hear? They'll get you, f*ggot."

Police arrived at the scene of the incident shortly after.

The attacker, who tried to hit Yermak, did not flee from the police and gave a statement to law enforcement officers.

He stated that he threw eggs at Yermak because the latter is a "f*ggot," as "the person was profiting from the war, profiting during the war."

"He promotes himself using the topic of prisoners of war, he promotes himself on the war itself, on the front line, while stealing money from the population. I am sure that it is because of people like this that society does not trust information sources... Yermak controls a mass of information sources and is generally a very influential person who steals and has usurped power," the man said.

The "attacker" turned out to be Viktor Lakhno, call sign "Leleka" (Stork) — a combat veteran, former soldier of the "AZOV" brigade, participant in the aerial breakthrough to Mariupol, who was held in Russian captivity.

On Instagram, he published stories showing himself in handcuffs.

The Main Directorate of the National Police in Kyiv told a UNN journalist that "police are speaking with him, and the issue of bringing him to administrative responsibility is being decided."

Recall

On the evening of May 11, NABU detectives and SAPO prosecutors notified the former head of the Office of the President, Andriy Yermak, of suspicion in a case concerning the construction of residential residences in Kozyn near Kyiv.

According to the investigation, the housing cooperative where Yermak's house is located was built by companies linked to former Vice Prime Minister Oleksiy Chernyshov. Law enforcement officers believe that the construction used funds allegedly laundered by an organized group led by businessman Timur Mindich. The investigation also alleges Yermak's involvement in this scheme.

The day before, the High Anti-Corruption Court was supposed to determine a preventive measure for Yermak. The prosecution requested either to take him into custody or to set bail in the amount of 180 million hryvnias. The lawyers asked to postpone the hearing to allow time to review 16 volumes of case materials.

Neither former colleagues nor former employees of Yermak attended the court hearing. At the same time, Colonel Roman Chervinsky, who is associated with the appearance of the so-called "Yermak tapes," was present in court.

The HACC will announce the decision on the preventive measure for the former head of the Office of the President, Andriy Yermak, tomorrow at 9:00 AM.
