NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that Ukraine's membership in the Alliance will not be achieved at the July summit, but that NATO will demonstrate progress in bringing Ukraine closer to membership.

In order for Ukraine to become a NATO member, a consensus of all 32 members is needed. This will probably not be achieved at the summit in July, but NATO will demonstrate progress in bringing Ukraine closer to membership. This was stated by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg during a joint press conference with Volodymyr Zelenskyy, an UNN correspondent reports.

In order for this decision to be made, we need all the members of the Alliance to agree to it, we need a consensus. Not a majority, but all 32 members of the Alliance must agree. I do not expect that we will be able to reach such an agreement at the summit in July, but I think we will be able to demonstrate that we are bringing Ukraine closer to membership and that this day will come as soon as possible, when Ukraine will become a full member of our alliance

- Stoltenberg said.

He also noted that discussions are underway on how to strengthen military support for Ukraine and guarantee the supply of such forces and equipment that will enable the Armed Forces to take their place in the Alliance in the future.
