On August 10, the world celebrates an unusual and amusing unofficial holiday — World Sloth Day, while gourmets enjoy National S'mores Day. According to the new church calendar, Orthodox believers commemorate the holy Apostles of the Seventy: Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, and Parmenas; according to the old calendar, they commemorate Venerable Prochorus of the Caves, UNN writes.

The Day of Remembrance of the Holy Apostles Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, and Parmenas
According to the new (Revised Julian) calendar, on August 10, four of the seven deacons chosen by the early Christian Church are commemorated. In popular tradition, this day was called “Prochorus and Parmenas” or “Prochorus Day.”
Our ancestors believed that on this day one should not engage in buying or selling or borrow money, as such activities were thought not to bring good fortune. At this time, they also actively dug up onions and harvested pears.
For those who follow the old (Julian) calendar: on August 10, the memory of Venerable Prochorus of the Caves, a miracle worker, as well as the holy Apostles Prochorus, Nicanor, and others, is commemorated. In folk tradition, it is known as “Prochorus-Parmenas.” Peasants traditionally paid attention to the weather: if the sun shines brightly on Prochorus Day and the clouds drift high, the weather will be dry and clear.
