The EU has officially launched the first stage of accession negotiations for Ukraine and Moldova. Kyrylo Budanov called this decision a recognition of the resilience of Kyiv's European choice.

The decision to open the first cluster of negotiations regarding the accession of Ukraine and Moldova to the EU is a recognition of the resilience and irreversibility of Kyiv's European choice. This was stated by the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, reports UNN.

According to him, this includes, in particular, issues of security and the creation of a European security space.
"We are beginning work on the foundation of our European life. These are issues of justice, freedom, and fundamental rights. The framework that will make us part of a single, strong, and protected European space,"
He emphasized that the EU represents a strong economy, and close economic ties between members strengthen mutual interest and European unity.
"We have proven our ability to fight for independence. Now we are proving our ability to integrate into a space where freedom and human life are valued. Difficult and complex negotiations lie ahead. At every stage, it will be necessary to change for the better while simultaneously protecting national interests. We must walk this path to become even stronger and to be full-fledged subjects of the European community. After all, victory is forged not only on the battlefield but also in systemic decisions that change history,"
On Monday, June 15, the European Union officially opened the first stage of negotiations on Ukraine's accession, ending a two-year delay caused by the Hungarian veto.
