US military destroys Yemeni Houthis' maritime drone

The US military has eliminated a Yemeni Houthi surface drone in the Red Sea. The operation was conducted to protect navigation and the security of international waters in the region.
As part of an operation to protect shipping in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden from militant attacks, the US military has eliminated a Yemeni Houthi surface drone. This was reported by the Central Command of the US Armed Forces (CENTCOM) in the social network X, UNN reports .
Details
The US military said in a statement that USCENTCOM forces had successfully destroyed one Iranian-backed Houthi surface vessel in the Red Sea overnight.
It was determined that the USV posed a clear and present danger to U.S. and coalition forces, as well as to merchant vessels in the region,
The US side also adds that the target was eliminated in order to protect freedom of navigation and to "make international waters safer for US, coalition and merchant vessels".

On August 9, the US military destroyed two anti-ship missiles and a Houthi ground control station in Yemen overnight. They also destroyed an unmanned surface vessel in the Red Sea, which threatened the security of the region.
