On June 22 at 10:00 p.m. Kyiv time, at Ukraine's request, a meeting of the UN Security Council will be held in response to Russia's recent massive attack against Ukraine. This was reported by Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, as reported by UNN.

According to Sybiha, such attacks leave wounds far beyond the battlefield – they take human lives, destroy communities, and damage the cultural heritage that preserves the nation's memory and identity.

We expect UN Security Council members to send a clear signal: Russia must realize that neither Ukraine nor the international community will compromise on the principles of the UN Charter and international law. Reminder

Earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that they are convening emergency meetings of the UN Security Council, as well as taking corresponding steps within the OSCE, the Council of Europe, and UNESCO in connection with Russia's latest attacks against Ukraine.

Ukraine is also initiating relevant procedures within UNESCO and other international mechanisms, demanding an "immediate and adequate response" to the Russian strike that significantly damaged the buildings of the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra.
