At the continental championship in Krakow, Poland, medals were awarded in the individual kayak cross race for the first time in history. Previously, the athletes competed against the clock to get into the top 16 and advance to the elimination stage.
Oleksandr Fedorenko took second place in the individual kayak cross race among men under 23. He was only 0.03 seconds behind the winner, Frenchman Leo Vitton. Another French athlete, Anatole Delassus, won bronze.
