The Ukrainian women's tennis team has reached the final stage of the prestigious Billie Jean King Cup for the first time in history, becoming one of the eight strongest teams on the planet. This is reported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, reports UNN.

The Ukrainian women laid the foundation for the triumph in the matches of Group "E", where they defeated the Polish team with a score of 3:0. Marta Kostyuk started a bright winning streak, defeating Katarzyna Kawa without a chance. Then Elina Svitolina took over, who defeated Maya Chwalinska after the first set. Lyudmila and Nadiya Kichenok put an end to the match, who turned out to be stronger than the Polish duet in the doubles match.
The fate of reaching the final was decided in the confrontation with Switzerland. After Kostyuk's failure in the first match, Svitolina entered the court. Her victory over Jil Teichmann brought Ukraine the necessary result and first place in the group.
