A Ukrainian delegation will travel to the United States to discuss a new rare earth minerals agreement. The negotiations aim to reach a mutually beneficial text of the agreement.

Next week, Ukraine will send a group to the United States for negotiations on a new draft agreement on rare earth minerals. This was reported by the Associated Press, citing First Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko, UNN informs.

According to her, the delegation from Kyiv will include representatives of the Ministries of Economy, Foreign Affairs, Justice and Finance.

The publication notes that lengthy negotiations on a rare earth agreement have already created tension in relations between Kyiv and Washington. Both sides were preparing to sign a framework agreement in February, but the plan was thwarted after a controversial meeting in the Oval Office between White House Chief Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
"After some Ukrainian lawmakers released a new draft, critics dismissed it as an attempt to strip Kyiv of control over its own natural resources and infrastructure. The new draft allegedly includes not only rare earth minerals, but also gas and oil," the article says.
