U.S. National Security Council adviser Mike Waltz is taking "full responsibility" for creating a chat in the Signal group to discuss U.S. military strikes in Yemen, which was accidentally attended by The Atlantic editor-in-chief Jeffrey Goldberg. The politician stated this in an interview with Fox News, UNN reports.

"I take full responsibility. I created this group. My job is to make sure everything is coordinated. ... It's embarrassing, yes. We're going to get to the bottom of it," Waltz said.
Asked where he got Goldberg's phone number, he suggested that the reporter's number was accidentally listed under someone else's name - a person he intended to add to the group.

He also stressed that the information published in the Signal chat was not secret, but added that he would prefer that Goldberg not make the full messages public.
