US President Joe Biden has been informed that Israeli aircraft may have struck the Iranian consulate in Damascus. His "team is looking into the matter," White House spokeswoman Karin Jean-Pierre said during a briefing, UNN reports .

On Monday evening, there were reports that Israeli warplanes had allegedly bombed the Iranian embassy in Syria.
The strike killed two high-ranking commanders of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and several diplomats.
A representative of the Israeli military refused to comment on "reports in foreign media.
Reuters correspondents reported from the scene that the heads of the Syrian Foreign Ministry and the Interior Ministry were there. Syrian state media reported that at least six people were killed and several others were injured.
