Defense Minister Rustem Umerov announced the success of the meeting in Riyadh, where issues of ceasefire, navigation security and prisoner exchange were discussed. He emphasized the role of the United States in guaranteeing the implementation of agreements.
Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov called the meeting in Riyadh successful and productive. He expressed confidence that the United States has enough leverage to ensure the implementation of all agreements reached, UNN reports with reference to "My-Ukraine".
We discussed at the bilateral level with our American partners very important issues regarding freedom of navigation and ceasefire at sea, ceasefire in the air. We touched upon issues of electricity, energy in general, infrastructure and ceasefire. We discussed the humanitarian dimension: exchange of prisoners of war, return of civilians and children. We also stressed that we would be interested in involving third parties for monitoring and guarantees. This meeting is a continuation of our meetings in Jeddah. We held very productive, efficient and effective meetings and are grateful to Donald Trump for his initiatives.
The Minister outlined the next steps after the meeting in Riyadh and stressed Ukraine's readiness to work on practical mechanisms for implementing the agreements reached.
We are ready to organize a separate meeting at the technical level to start working on implementation mechanisms. At this point, all parties will inform their leadership, and we will soon return to the issue of dates and deadlines. Ukraine has always stressed that we are focused on a lasting peace. As I said, Jeddah was successful, Riyadh was successful. We want a ceasefire, we want to achieve a lasting peace. Ukraine is 100% behind this. We have an American negotiator in the middle, and America has enough "carrots and sticks" to ensure the implementation of all agreements
