10 Ukrainian women made it to the finals of the European Wrestling Championship, which is taking place this week in Bratislava, Slovakia. According to the NOC of Ukraine: four athletes will compete for "gold", and six wrestlers for a bronze medal.
On the first day of the medal bouts, the Ukrainian women won four awards — two gold and two bronze.

Two-time European champion Oksana Livach confidently defeated 5-time continental championship medalist Evin Demirhan from Turkey in the decisive bout in the weight category up to 50kg - 8:0.
European champion Anastasia Alpyeyeva confidently defeated bronze medalist of the 2020 Olympic Games Yasemin Adar from Turkey in the fight for "gold" in the weight category up to 76kg — 6:0. This is the first major title for the Ukrainian woman in the international arena among adults, reports the NOC.
Bronze medalist of the European Championship Oleksandra Khomenets. In the small final in the weight category up to 55kg, the Ukrainian defeated Tuba Demir from Turkey — 6:2. This is Oleksandra's second award at the level of the continental championship: in 2022 she won "silver".
Bronze medalist of the European Championship Alina Filipovych. The Ukrainian woman added another award to the silver of the 2024 European Championship — this time a bronze. In the small final in the weight category up to 59kg, Alina minimally defeated the Hungarian Erika Bognar — 3:2.
