Israel has expanded its ground operation in southern Gaza. IDF troops advanced to the Al-Jneina area in Rafah. This is reported by UNN with reference to the press service of the IDF and the publication The Times of Israel.

According to the IDF, Israeli troops entered the Al-Janina area in Rafah, where they destroyed a number of facilities used by Hamas militants.
Simultaneously with the ground operation, the Israeli army and the Israeli Security Agency (Shabak) are carrying out air strikes on the positions of Hamas and Islamic Jihad militants throughout Gaza.
In recent days, weapons depots, missile launchers, military fortifications, as well as auxiliary infrastructure of terrorist groups have been destroyed. Dozens of militants have been eliminated as a result of the strikes, including those who shelled Israeli territory with mortars.
As a reminder, on January 19, Israel announced the beginning of a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip at 11:15 local time. This happened after Hamas handed over a list of three female hostages to be released today.
Hamas sent Israel a list of hostages for release, including three women. The exchange is to take place as part of a 42-day truce, where 33 Israelis are planned to be exchanged for 1,900 Palestinians.
Israeli Prime Minister announced the resumption of hostilities against Hamas in Gaza. He stressed that Israel will continue to fight to achieve its military goals.
The IDF resumed its ground operation in the Gaza Strip to create a buffer zone. The operation is accompanied by air strikes and the restoration of control over the Netzari corridor.
