A junior inspector of the Kyiv pre-trial detention center was exposed for systematically smuggling and selling cannabis to prisoners for personal gain.

An inspector of the Kyiv pre-trial detention center systematically sold cannabis to prisoners. According to the capital's prosecutor's office, the man was notified of suspicion, UNN reports.

According to the investigation, a junior inspector of the pre-trial detention center, for the purpose of personal enrichment, systematically illegally bought cannabis for further sale to persons in the pre-trial detention center.

Using his official position and being aware of the procedure for passing the checkpoint, the inspector systematically smuggled cannabis into the territory of the restricted facility for sale.

From January to March 2024, law enforcement officers documented 5 episodes of illegal drug trafficking. For one dose of cannabis, he received from the arrestees from 800 to 2100 hryvnias.

The inspector has now been served a notice of suspicion.
