Stefanchuk discussed with the PACE President the mechanism of compensation for war damage and the creation of a special tribunal for the crime of aggression against Ukraine.

Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk discussed with the President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Theodorous Roussopoulos the mechanism of compensation for damage from Russian aggression and the creation of a special tribunal for the crime of aggression against Ukraine. Stefanchuk reported this on the social network X, UNN reports.

I start my visit to France with a meeting with the President of PACE.  We discussed the security situation in Ukraine.  Particular attention was paid to the creation of a comprehensive compensation mechanism. He emphasized the importance of opening a satellite office of the Register of Damages in Ukraine. The next steps are important, namely the establishment of a Compensation Commission to review applications and a Compensation Fund

Also, Stefanchuk and Roussopoulos touched upon the creation of a special tribunal for the crime of aggression against Ukraine and efforts to return children illegally deported by Russia to Ukraine.

On April 2, 2024, the international Register of Losses was officially opened for submission.

Through the Diia app, you can submit an application to the International Register of Damage, which will become the basis for compensation for damage from Russian aggression.

On April 15 , UNN reported that more than 1.3 thousand applications have already been submitted to the International Register of Damages for damage caused by Russian aggression through the Diia app.
