Spotify is developing tools that will allow users to remix songs directly in the streaming service, with features such as tempo control, filtering by genre and mood, and creating remixes for specific scenarios, such as workouts.

Spotify is working on mixing tools that will allow users to remix songs on the streaming service. TechCrunch writes about it, UNN reports.

Details

While music lovers use programs such as Adobe Audition or Ableton Live to create mixes of their favorite songs, the new features will allow people to do so directly in Spotify.

The screenshots show that the mixing tools will be available with the new premium Music Pro subscription level.

The news was first reported by The Wall Street Journal,  whose sources claim that it is too early to discuss the tools and that license agreements have not yet been developed.

A Spotify spokesperson told TechCrunch that the company is constantly looking for ideas to improve its product offerings and provide value to its users, but did not comment on speculation about new features.

AddendumAddendum

In the screenshots provided by TechCrunch, the app's code refers to various mixing tools that will allow users to "develop their DJ skills with different transition styles to create the final mix.

The tools will also allow users to "set the tempo range for your mix" and "set the atmosphere for your mix" by filtering by "genres, moods, activities, etc.

The code assumes that users will be able to create remixes of songs according to a certain scenario.

Theoretically, you could create an upbeat, faster version of a slower song to create a remix to listen to while you work out.
