During his official visit to China, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said he would discuss with President Xi Jinping the possibility of promoting a "just peace" in Ukraine.

- Scholz wrote on the social network X, adding that since his last visit to China, there has been an "intensive exchange" between the German and Chinese governments.

Meanwhile, Chinese state media report that the leaders have already met at the Diaoyutai guest residence in Beijing.

On Tuesday, the German Chancellor is also expected to meet with Chinese Premier Li Keqiang and hold a press conference on the results of his visit.
