"The occupiers have destroyed or damaged more than 18,000 civilian infrastructure facilities, including more than 17,500 residential buildings and structures, 215 educational and training institutions, 23 medical facilities, six cultural buildings, 9 religious buildings, and 169 networks that ensure the vital activity of the population. These are gas pipelines, water pipelines and power grids," Kostin said.

The director of the Kyiv Research Institute, Oleksandr Ruvin, said earlier that the amount of damage caused by the occupiers in the Kyiv region exceeds 100 billion hryvnias.
"In terms of the amount of damage, for example, if we talk only about real estate and according to a very preliminary estimate, it is more than UAH 15 billion in Bucha and more than UAH 60 billion in Irpin. Overall estimates for the Kyiv region indicate that losses on real estate exceed UAH 100 billion.
And we haven't counted the substations, thermal power plants, hydroelectric power plants and factories that were damaged, the warehouses... In Novi Petrivtsi, the largest bakery in the Kyiv region was bombed - it was completely bombed. Tanks arrived and simply destroyed it," Ruvin said.
According to Ruvin, the Institute's specialists arrived in Kyiv region on April 1, 2022, before the official announcement of the full de-occupation of the region. They immediately began work on recording and assessing the damage. In total, with the participation of the Institute's experts, more than two hundred settlements that were under occupation and destroyed as a result of hostilities were examined.
"We came to Irpin and Bucha when the equipment was still there. We visited every house there, checked and described every house, and then gave many owners ready-made examinations so that they could apply to the International Criminal Court. There were probably more than a hundred such appeals from people," recalled the Director of KFI.
