Romania scrambled two F-16 fighter jets amid another Russian attack on Ukraine near the border, the Romanian Ministry of National Defense reported on April 29, according to UNN.

"On Wednesday morning, April 29, Russian forces carried out a new series of drone attacks on civilian and infrastructure targets in Ukraine, near the river border with Romania, in Tulcea County. Two F-16 aircraft performing air policing missions took off at approximately 01:10 from the 86th Air Base in Fetești," the statement said.
As indicated, an RO-Alert warning message was sent to the population in the northern part of Tulcea County at 01:12.
"Ground radars tracked two groups consisting of seven and eight drones respectively. The F-16 pilots reported numerous explosions on the Ukrainian side of the Danube. No radar signals were detected in the national airspace," the Romanian Ministry of Defense stated.
The air raid alert, as indicated, was terminated at 2:40.
"The Ministry of National Defense informs allied structures in real-time about situations arising from the attacks, maintaining constant contact with them," the Romanian defense department pointed out.

According to data from the Odesa Regional Prosecutor's Office, "on the night of April 29, the armed forces of the Russian Federation launched a massive attack with strike drones on port facilities, civilian infrastructure, and a residential area in the Odesa region."
