Putin congratulated Trump on his 80th birthday and complained about AFU strikes. Trump, as the Kremlin claims, allegedly expressed readiness to influence Kyiv and Europe for the sake of peace.

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin held a telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump—congratulating him on his birthday and complaining about strikes by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The Kremlin claims that the American leader allegedly stated he is "ready to influence both the Europeans and Kyiv on the issue of a settlement," UNN reports with reference to Russian media.

As reported by Yuri Ushakov, an aide to the Russian dictator, the conversation was friendly and frank in nature and lasted 55 minutes. According to him, Putin congratulated Trump on his 80th birthday, and they discussed possible contacts between representatives of the two countries.
Russian media also compiled Ushakov's main statements regarding the conversation between Putin and Trump:
- Trump "was moved" by Putin's congratulations, noting that he was the first of the foreign heads of state to call the White House;
- Trump passed on greetings to Putin from his wife Melania; the Russian president expressed his best wishes to her, praising her role in reuniting Russian and Ukrainian children with their families;
- The interlocutors touched upon the topic of the memorandum being prepared between the US and Iran; Trump said that the results of the negotiations could be made public today;
- Trump emphasized the need to cease military actions in Ukraine;
- Putin noted that recent strikes by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on civilian targets in Russia hinder a settlement;
- The American leader stated that he is "ready to influence both the Europeans and Kyiv on the issue of a settlement";
- Witkoff and Kushner will arrive in Moscow in the near future.
