An FSB agent is detained for preparing missile attacks on military airfields and fuel and energy facilities in Kyiv and Chernihiv regions.
Law enforcers detained another Russian agent who was preparing missile attacks on Ukrainian Armed Forces units and fuel and energy facilities in Kyiv and Chernihiv regions. UNN reports this with reference to the SBU.
Details
According to the SBU, the enemy's main targets included military airfields and air defense units, as well as oil refineries, fuel depots, and key power generating facilities.
To obtain the coordinates of the objects, the agent traveled around the area and secretly recorded the locations he needed on his phone camera. He would pass the information to a career officer of the FSB office in Moscow and Moscow region.
Law enforcement detained him when he was conducting additional reconnaissance near the location of Ukrainian troops in Kyiv region. The SBU also took additional measures to secure Ukraine's strategically important facilities.
According to SBU cyber experts, the suspect came to the attention of the aggressor through anti-Ukrainian comments published on pro-Kremlin Telegram channels.
Based on the evidence collected, SBU investigators served the detainee a notice of suspicion under Part 2 Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed under martial law).
The offender is in custody. He faces life imprisonment.
The operation was conducted by the SBU officers in Kyiv and Kyiv region under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor General's Office.
