People's deputies propose to keep the NMT in 2027 and cancel the DPA

A group of people's deputies registered a draft law in the Verkhovna Rada, which provides for maintaining the current model of the national multi-subject test (NMT) with four subjects in 2027, as well as canceling the state final examination next year. This is reported by UNN with reference to the draft law No. 15440.

Details

According to the draft law, the people's deputies propose to maintain the NMT model in 2027 as well, which will consist of 4 subjects:

• Ukrainian language;
• Mathematics;
• History of Ukraine;
• a subject of choice - Foreign language, Biology, Geography, Physics, Chemistry, Ukrainian literature.

The document also provides for the cancellation of the state final examination (DPA) in 2027.

Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Education, Science and Innovation Serhiy Babak stated that the draft law creates the necessary legislative conditions for organizing the admission campaign under martial law, which is also an important component of our educational realities.

We propose to maintain the model of the national multi-subject test with four subjects. At the same time, the specific format of the entrance exams, taking into account the security situation and organizational capabilities, will be determined by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. This approach allows combining legislative certainty with the necessary flexibility when making management decisions

Addition

In May, the Cabinet of Ministers headed by Yulia Svyrydenko submitted to the Verkhovna Rada a draft law proposing to exempt graduates of 2027 from the DPA, and the entrance exams would consist of four mandatory subjects.

However, after the resignation of the government along with Prime Minister Svyrydenko, the draft law, like other government ones that had not passed the first reading, were withdrawn.
