The coming days will be decisive in determining whether Russia really seeks peace, or is only trying to mislead the United States and the world. Pressure remains the only way to combat Moscow's lies.
The coming days will be decisive in determining whether Russia is serious about peace or intends to deceive the United States and the world. This was stated by Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha following the talks between the Ukrainian and US teams, reports UNN.
Details
According to Sybiha, the Ukrainian and American teams worked constructively in Saudi Arabia, achieving significant results on freedom of navigation in the Black Sea and a ceasefire on energy facilities.
Ukraine seeks to implement them and promote a just and lasting peace together with the United States and our European allies. We are grateful to the United States for promoting this process and to Saudi Arabia for its hospitality and facilitation. Unfortunately, we are already seeing Russia trying to manipulate and condition agreements on easing sanctions or anything else. But this is reflected only in the statements of Russia itself.
Sybiha stressed that "Russia is always lying, but now it will be especially noticeable to the whole world if Putin continues to drag out the war. Ukraine agreed to the US proposal for a full 30-day ceasefire on March 11. Russia rejected it."
We do not trust Russian words, and no one should trust them. We need to look at Russia's actions, not its statements. The coming days will be decisive in determining whether Russia is serious about peace or intends to deceive the United States and the world. Pressure is the only cure for Russian lies. Moscow must bear the appropriate consequences for any manipulation or violation of agreements. We continue to work with our partners to ensure this
