Payments of 300 thousand and discharge from service: Ministry of Defense details new rules for military personnel
Kyiv • UNN
Frontline fighters will receive 300,000 hryvnias, while veterans will be able to be discharged. Wounded personnel will retain 100,000 in payments throughout a year of treatment.

For the first time in the Ukrainian military, a principle is being introduced: the more you risk, the more you receive. This applies to both salaries and deferments. This is stated in a report by the Ministry of Defense, UNN reports.
Details
It is noted that by the end of the year, the gradual discharge of those who have been serving since both 2014 and 2022 will begin. First and foremost, this will apply to servicemen with the longest length of service and the most time spent in combat operations.
The resolutions were adopted on Friday, so we are waiting for the signature and publication. The documents will be published, and from that moment the changes will come into force
They also explained why the basic pay was not increased and why supplements did not increase for everyone. It is indicated that this is the first stage of the "Transformation of the Defense Forces," the priorities of which are to strengthen the front line and basic pay for those in the rear.
First of all, salaries are increasing for those who risk their lives the most. This means the front line of defense. On average – 300,000 hryvnias. Basic pay was increased from 20,000 to 30,000 hryvnias at the expense of a 10,000 hryvnia rear allowance. To find funds for the first stage, the Ministry of Defense used existing resources
The defense department also spoke about what the payments will be in case of injury.
If a person is undergoing inpatient treatment after being wounded, their combat payments are preserved – this is 100,000 hryvnias per month. These payments can be maintained for 12 months of continuous treatment. After being wounded, you can remain in a combat military unit of your own free will. This is already provided for by regulatory acts. It is also stated in the experimental resolution
They added that for the first time, clear terms of service and guaranteed deferments according to combat experience are appearing.
Recall
Minister of Defense of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov clarified the issue of deferment after the expiration of a military service contract and indicated that for the military who have been in the Defense Forces the longest and spent the most time in combat, "we are starting a gradual discharge from service by the end of the year."
