The Ministry of Defense clarifies whether TCCs will be liquidated during military reform
Kyiv • UNN
The Ministry of Defense called the TCC reform a sensitive issue and is not yet disclosing details. MP Bobrovska expects the presentation of the structure's renewal plan in the summer.

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine called the issue of reforming the Armed Forces of Ukraine (specifically, the territorial recruitment centers) sensitive and refused to provide detailed information regarding the modernization of the Ukrainian military in general and the population mobilization process in particular. This was reported by UNN with reference to the response from the relevant ministry received by journalists upon their request.
The request inquired about the specific changes awaiting the TRCs (Territorial Recruitment Centers): reformation, updating, or the complete liquidation of the structure. Furthermore, representatives of the department were asked who in Ukraine would handle mobilization and recruitment into the ranks of the AFU in the event of the TRCs' liquidation.
The Ministry of Defense responded as follows:
"Given the sensitivity of the issue and the importance of the mentioned problems, we approach all decisions, including communication, with extreme care and deliberation. If such decisions are made, the Ministry of Defense will provide proper information regarding this."
At the same time, the relevant ministry noted that they are aware of all problematic issues—both urgent and global—related to the process of mobilizing the population during the period of martial law and are working on their resolution.
Context
Solomiya Bobrovska, a member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security and a People's Deputy, speaking on May 30 during the socio-political talk show "Hovoryt Velykyi Lviv," stated that within the framework of reforming the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the territorial recruitment centers (TRCs) may be disbanded.
There will no longer be TRCs in the form they exist now: the structure will be reformed
UNN reached out to the parliamentarian for a comment on this matter.
I don't have specific details (of this reform – ed.). In that interview, I said that the Ministry of Defense is supposed to present its reform as early as this summer. So, let's wait for it together
The People's Deputy also clarified that currently, only the developer of the reform—the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine—possesses full information about the possible reformation of the TRCs. Even parliamentarians from the relevant committee do not have access to this sensitive information.
Recall
Earlier, we reported that the launch of the first elements of a comprehensive transformation of recruitment conditions and service in the Defense Forces is set to begin in June. This refers to a new contract model, clearer terms of service, and approaches to rotations.
Against this backdrop, the Ministry of Defense reported that it is preparing decisions regarding a fair payment model, new contracts, and clearer rules for military service. Separately, special contracts were announced for the infantry and military personnel performing tasks on the front line.
In other words, Ukrainian defenders will have the opportunity to be discharged from service in stages.
