No movement of equipment or troops recorded in the border zone of Belarus - Demchenko
Kyiv • UNN
No movement of equipment or troops for an offensive is being recorded on the border with Belarus. Russia is putting pressure on Minsk, but no strike groups have been formed at this time.

As of May 24, Ukrainian border guards have not recorded any signs of the formation of strike groups or the transfer of equipment from Belarus near the border with Ukraine. This was reported by the representative of the State Border Guard Service, Andriy Demchenko, during a telethon, according to UNN.
"If we are talking about our border line, fortunately, as of this moment, we are not recording the movement of equipment, weapons, or personnel in the immediate vicinity of our border, nor such an accumulation,"
According to him, intelligence data indicates active pressure from the Russian Federation on Belarus to get Minsk more extensively involved with its own forces in the war against Ukraine.
"Of course, this poses a greater risk to our country and creates the possibility of a repeated invasion specifically from the territory of Belarus,"
The State Border Guard Service emphasized that it is necessary to consider whether these will be Belarusian units or, possibly, additional forces of the Russian Federation using this territory again.
At the same time, Demchenko said that overall, the number of Belarusian units near the border with Ukraine has not changed since 2022.
"If we are talking about units of the Russian army, there are currently no large numbers of them on the territory of Belarus… If certain Russian units remain on the territory of Belarus now, they are mostly units related to logistics and support. If we are talking about infantry units that could carry out an invasion of Ukraine from Belarus as of now – fortunately, they are not being recorded,"
As a reminder
Lukashenko called aggression against Belarus the only reason for entering the war. He also stated his readiness to meet with Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
