Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha welcomed New Zealand's joining the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children, which now comprises 51 countries. He stressed that this increases international pressure on Russia to return the illegally deported children.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha welcomed New Zealand’s accession to the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children, which now has 51 member countries. He wrote about this on the social network X, reports UNN.
New Zealand has become the 51st member of the Coalition, strengthening our joint international efforts to bring home Ukrainian children illegally deported and forcibly transferred by Russia
He noted that with each new country joining the Coalition, international pressure on Russia grows, and the joint appeal becomes increasingly difficult to ignore – Ukrainian children must return home.
Sybiha added that their abduction and forced transfer cannot become yet another long-term consequence of Russia’s war.
The Ukrainian Foreign Minister also thanked New Zealand Deputy Foreign Minister Winston Peters and New Zealand for this important decision and unwavering solidarity with Ukraine.
He also stressed that Ukraine will continue to increase pressure on the Russian Federation until every Ukrainian child returns home.
